Climbing Insanely Steep Stairs | Kuon-ji Temple, Minobu town, Yamanashi Prefecture | Yamanashi eps 1

Mount Minobu is a mountain in Minobu Town, a town in the district of Minamikoma, Yamanashi Prefecture. Mount Minobu is a home of a buddhist temple, Kuon-ji, founded by Nichiren in 1281 it is today the head temple of Nichiren Shū. Locally it is referred to as the Minobu-san Temple, after the mountain upon which it is built. To go to the temple area, there are two possible way : a long way through less steep track, or a short way through the 287 steps of stairs of enlightment (I officially called it "the stairways of despair"). The stairs are climbed by chanting pilgrims regularly every year. The blossoming of thousands of cherry trees, including the hundred-year-old weeping cherry tree in the garden, also makes this temple a popular tourist destination. Unfortunately, I came at the time when the sakura not blossoming yet. Behind the temple, is a cable car (Officially called as "Minobu-san Ropeway") which takes tourists and pilgrims up to the top of the mountain and further temple buildings. On the top of Mount Minobu, a spectaculat view is waiting for you, including Mount Fuji view (in a clear weather without clouds) More info : https://www.japan.travel/en/spot/2047/ Follow My Instagram : @fajri_fish
